Our story
Geastm started with a fairly ordinary problem. Two friends, Mark Smit and Marc Julian Brugman, kept noticing the same thing in the places they spent their time. Offices with sad little pots on the windowsill. Hallways with nothing in them because nobody had the time to keep a plant alive. Balconies that looked bare for eight months of the year. Everyone wanted greenery. Almost nobody had the schedule for it.
So they went looking for artificial plants that did not look artificial. What they found was mostly disappointing. Shiny plastic leaves, colours that belonged in a cartoon, stems that bent the wrong way and gave the whole thing away from across the room. There was a real gap between what people wanted and what was actually being sold, and the two of them decided to do something about it.
On 28 August 2023 they registered their partnership with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and got to work. Geastm is the webshop they built.
What we sell
Realistic artificial plants and greenery for homes, offices and outdoor spaces. Trees, potted plants, hanging greenery, panels and smaller pieces that fill in the corners of a room. Everything in our range is chosen for how it reads at normal distance, in normal light, in a normal room. That is the test that matters. A plant that only looks convincing in a product photo is not much use once it is standing next to your sofa.
We pay attention to the details that usually give artificial greenery away. Leaf texture and vein patterns. Colour variation, because no living plant is one flat shade of green. Stems that hold a natural shape and can be adjusted without snapping back. Materials that hold their colour instead of fading into something grey and tired after a season.
Why easy care matters
Not everyone wants a hobby. Some people travel constantly. Some manage buildings where nobody is assigned to watering. Some have pets or small children and would rather not worry about soil and spilled water. Some have simply killed enough plants to know themselves well.
Our whole range exists for those situations. No watering, no repotting, no light requirements, no seasonal panic. You place it where you want it, dust it now and then, and it looks the same in three years as it did on the day it arrived. That is the entire maintenance routine.

Both partners are fully authorised and both are involved in the business daily. There is no call centre behind Geastm and no anonymous support desk. When you send us a question, one of a very small number of people reads it and answers it.
How we work
We keep the range focused rather than enormous. We would rather offer a smaller selection we genuinely stand behind than list thousands of items we have never handled ourselves. New products get ordered, unpacked, inspected and looked at from a few metres away before we decide whether they earn a place in the shop. Plenty of them do not.
We are a young company and we are still growing. That means we read every message, we take feedback seriously, and when something goes wrong we fix it rather than hide behind policy. Reputation is the only real asset a small webshop has.
